The route starts outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and continues as far as the centre of Lyon and then on through Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Fréjus, Cannes, Nice, before coming to an end at Menton. A total of 996 kilometres traversed by one of France's most famous highways and the inspiration for its popular road-themed game; "1000 Bornes".
